What’S Your Leader-ship Style?

Are you into a career in medical coding and billing? Are you in a management job? Do you aspire to be there one day? You need to have an idea of how your management style affects the people on your medical coding team. Here’s a quick quiz adapted from Dr. Timothy Butler and Dr James Waldroop’s ‘Understanding ‘people’ people.

Mark ‘yes’ or ‘no’ in the following to find your style:

1. You identify sources of conflict before they develop into full-blown problems.

2. The people who work for you like your meetings.

3. You are often asked to prepare speeches for your manager.

4. You are not productive when you work in your office. You would rather circulate around the office and help people at their desks.

5. You enjoy negotiating with the people who work for you to improve their performance.

How did you fare? Check which questions you answered with ‘yes’ to find your leadership style and understand your office’s interactions. Most people will have a combination of styles.
